Got this last week and weather was warm enough today on 3-15 to go outside for some target practice. My daughter was so excited to try it and after the 3rd magazine fired, it broke. Cheap metal in magazine split and airpistol malfunctions. Can’t return it on umarexoutlet.com so I’ll have to send it in on my expense and wait for it to be sent back. By that time, my daughter will probably lose interest and move onto something else. Was hoping to use this as a teaching tool and eventually shoot the real thing.

…but failures outweigh successes. The designers got some things right. It’s got a great finish, the grip texture is almost as abrasive (ouch!) as the real thing, and it shoots HARD, half-blowback notwithstanding. What’s not right? First, the trigger. Pull, pull, pull then, suddenly, BANG! There’s no creep or stacking to speak of, but there’s significant overtravel and excessive reset, over a half-inch. Second, and while Umarex never mentions it, the pistol CANNOT be field-stripped. Third, the magazine is a pain to load. Umarex gets points for a ‘catch’ for the BB follower but having to load rounds through the tiny hole at the top is absurd. If you value an airsoft pistol that shoots HARD and LOUD above all else, you’ll love it. If you’re hoping for a good training aid, I suggest you skip it.

*Update*
My son took this out for his first time to play airsoft since he got this for Christmas a couple weeks ago. When we went to put the co2 in it immediately started leaking out everywhere. I thought maybe I put it in wrong so I double checked and inserted a new canister. Same thing. The puncturing nozzle in the magazine was sheered at an angle so that it was allowing the gas to leak out instantly. I’ve contacted the seller, but no reply. At this point I guess I have to buy another magazine and try to repair the defective one on my own. It would really be nice to see a company actually stand behind their products and make an attempt at something resembling customer service though. That alone makes me not want to buy future Umarex products.
