You’re looking for ammo as smooth and as dense as possible to prolong the life of the bands, and for better accuracy at further distances. Can’t beat polished steel. The 3/8″ is perfect for me, but that’s personal preference.

Ordered 100 steel slingshot balls and they came in a clamshell type plastic package that had the corner broken out. Half the balls were rolling around loose in the umarexoutlet.com box. Counted up what I could find and only got 93.

…but they are not good at all for craft paint. I thought I would save a buck or two and get these instead of the mixer balls marketed for craft paints, but unfortunately these rust over time. Hopefully this review will keep crafters out there from making the same mistake.
