   Mine shoots awesome now but it took some doing to get it there. Due to the way the barrel/shroud attaches to the reciever, the barrel is very floppy; meaning that it easily flops up and down and side to side. I had to make up a type of type of securing block to make the barrel a bit more rigid and secure. Worked like a charm. I noticed a couple of years after designing that little dohicky that Umarex started selling later versions of the Guantlet with a similar device installed. They stole my idea. The rifle is said to be backyard friendly. Mine wasn’t. It was quite noisy; so much so that if I shot it in my backyard I would catch my neighbors giving me “The-Look” over the backyard fence. I fabricated a shroud modification that turned this PCP into a stealth gun. All you can hear now is the twang of the spring when I pull the trigger. Speaking of the trigger; the trigger spring and the spring that secures the safetly were not functioning properly. When I took it apart to take a look I found that the trigger spring itself was kinked and the spring that causes the clicking sound when you flip the safety on or off was out of place. It made it difficult to disengage the safety. They must have assembled my Gauntlet early on a Monday morning after a hardcore drunken bender of a week end. Now my Gauntlet can take out feral pigeons routinely from 75 to 80 yards. On non-windy days one hundred yard hits are easy to get.

   I like the gun. I ordered the .22 cal but was mistakinly sent a .25. I decided to keep it because upon examination I realized that it would more closely suit my shooting style. The gun is heavy but that isnt an issue with me because I am a bench shooter. The regulated air pressure is as stated. If filled properly it will easily deliver 25 shots per fill. The gun does not like several different pellets. I have settled into H&N hunter supreme 28 gr. 1.25 inch 5 shot groups are common shooting at 30 yds. Benjamin , gamo and one other European pellets do not perform to my desire. I always settle into only one pellet after trying several. Im no experimenter , I found out what the gun likes and thats what I continue with. Mine was purchased from umarexoutlet.com. Their service is exelent. After having shot mine a bit I read about a factory problem. The air stripper (also barrel centralizer) was cracked. I contacted the factory distributor in Fort Smith Ark and within one day I was informed that a free replacement was on its way. It is a good quality gun at a reasonable price. What more can be asked?

   The gun is extremely accurate out of the box .I’ve been able to get quarter sized groups at 50 yards, this gun is extremely power I’ve shoot Jsb 33 grain at around 800 fps and getting about 47 foot pounds of energy, I’ve been able to take out 40 – 50 pound hogs. The negatives with this gun is that you will most likely need to buy a after market barrel band to support the floating barrel , the one that comes with it will work but I would recommend a barrel band to add more support to it if your planning taking it out in the field, the gun is also pretty heavy and out of the box the bolt was a monster to cock but after a couple of rounds it became easy to cock the bolt . Overall I am very satisfied with the performance of this gun and for the price it’s at

   after a lot of searching for a reasonable pcp rifle and multiple reviews i decided on the Umarex Gauntlet even above the Gauntlet 2 because of poor reviews,this is my seventh air rifle,my favorite before this is an AIRFORCE CONDOR .22 cal but being tired of the single shot i wanted one with a magazine,my first impression was this is a heavy gun,i put my Airforce scope on it and it weighs @10.5 lbs,it was twice the Condors weight and me being used to the lighter weight was a little shocked but once adjusting the trigger and putting 100 or so pellets through it im very impressed with its accuracy and dont think much about the weight because the pro’s are greater,i read that the JSB 25.39 KINGS were a good match for this gun and they are,only thing is they are out of stock everywhere except for umarexoutlet.com and they take advantage of it with being way overpriced,there are other .25cal pellets cheaper but cant state for their accuracy

   First off I just want to say that I like the gun overall but as you can see from the pictures it has a lot of problems I have went through countless o-rings because of the poor manufacturing when they drill holes and failure to clean them properly the trigger straight sucks out of the box can be adjusted to be a little bit better out of the box I was only getting about 730 something fps very far from the 950 that the manufacturer claims it can do hajimoto productions does some fantastic upgrades for it they are well worth the money if you like doing the work yourself if you don’t hajimoto offers a gun the exact same thing fully upgraded that they sell and if you have the money you’re better off just buying it then buying this this one is not worth any of money it out of the box is just straight junk the bottle does not line up properly so it leaks the air stripper that comes on it is broke right out of the box so there’s just a lot of things that need corrected before they sell them this one looks like it had sat around in a warehouse for a while because it started rusting on the inside on the internals so I had a lot of lot of cleaning I had to do so I do not recommend anyone buying this but after a bunch of modifications and upgrades it does run a lot better
